Operations Director

Erin Smith is deeply grateful to live on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc and Tŝilhqot'in Nations, residing on Horsefly Lake with her partner. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner (MN-FNP), which have shaped her extensive career in healthcare.

Erin has served in diverse roles, including outpost nursing and primary care as both a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner in various Indigenous communities. She has also held leadership positions, for a number of years, as Health Director for Tŝi Deldel First Nation and Director of Nursing with Three Corners Health Services Society in Williams Lake.

For the past 11 years, Erin has been faculty at the Thompson Rivers University School of Nursing, contributing to the education and mentorship of future healthcare professionals. Additionally, for the past six years, she has worked as an Engagement Partner with the Specialist Services Committee at Doctors of BC, supporting Medical Staff Associations, Divisions of Family Practice and collaborative tables in the Northern and Interior health regions.

Beyond her professional work, Erin is passionate about rural and Indigenous healthcare, community-driven initiatives, and fostering collaboration within the healthcare system. She finds joy in spending time beside, on, or in the water, exploring the outdoors, home renovations, photography, music, travel, learning new things, and enjoying time with her partner and three sons.
